On 14 May John Coffey played to a sold‑out Area51 twice. With great success. The band stood on an improvised stage in the skate bowl, while the audience conveniently positioned itself between the half pipes and the ramps. John Coffey is just as well‑known for his “beer caught mid‑flight” at Pinkpop as for the soundtrack of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. A lot of nostalgia in Area 51 that Saturday with a steaming combination of three factors: gaming, skating and punk rock.
